Most people exhibit what political scientists call "the conservatism of the
peasantry." Don't lose what you've got. Don't change. Don't take a chance,
because you might end up starving to death. Play it safe. Buy just as much
as you need. Don't waste time.

When we think about risk, human beings and corporations realize in their
heads that risks are necessary to grow, to survive. But when it comes down
to keeping good people when the crunch comes, or investing money in
something untried, only the brave reach deep into their pockets and play
the game as it must be played.

Pumpkin found hanging in pear tree in Iowa

{ Posted on Sep 16 2011 by SacBee -- Wire Weird News }
An Iowa couple have discovered an eerie presence in their pear tree, just in time for the approaching Halloween season.

In this undated photo released by Phil and JaNelle Lovely, a pumpkin is shown appearing to be growing in their pear tree at their Greenfield home, 50 miles southwest of Des Moines, Iowa. They say they have no idea how the pumpkin ended up in their tree, but it appears to be the work of Mother Nature. A nearby garden vine climbed the tree, giving the now-green pumpkin the appearance of having sprouted from one the tree's branches.
